Tuesday was the start of our new 11 plus term. We’d reached that crucial stage where we had to split one class into two to ensure that our children get the individual attention and care they need.
We have twin boys who’ve been with us since September 2018. They are both intelligent, but one more academically inclined than the other. The less academic sibling compared himself to his brother, which meant he wasn’t excelling to the extent that I felt he could.
So I made the decision to put them in separate classes.
It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.
It was wonderful to see the one who ‘struggled’ really flourish. He was totally focused in a way I’ve never seen before. He was happy, engaged, answered questions enthusiastically and confidently, which was a pleasure to see.
I’m delighted to be awarding him our Star Student Award next week to recognise such an immediate and dramatic improvement. I can’t wait to see the look on his face!
Happily, his parents were also there to see it as it was one of our regular open evenings. They were blown away with how engaged he was, and we all agreed that this change will do wonders for his confidence and progress.
