Super Tutoring for the 11 plus and independent school examinations
At Super Tutoring we prepare Year 4 and Year 5 children for the 11 plus and independent school exams through confidence-boosting, individually tailored tutoring programmes.
We also offer a week-long Summer School, specifically focused on exam practice, revision and technique for children going into Year 6 who are sitting the entrance exams in September and January.
Our lessons are fun and engaging, which leaves a lasting impression and reduces stress which can get in the way of success. We enable your child to have fun, think critically and apply their learning long after they sit their 11 plus exam.

Year 4
Foundation
Our Year 4 foundation course builds on key maths and English skills, and introduces children to verbal and non-verbal reasoning. This foundation will build your child’s confidence in these four subjects and lay the building blocks for year 5.
Year 5
Preparation
Our Year 5 preparation year builds on our Year 4 foundation year to develop advanced knowledge in maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning as required for their 11 plus and entrance examinations.
Year 6
Revision
Our revision term fine-tunes your child’s existing knowledge and, coupled with extensive exam paper practice, will stretch them to a high academic level giving them a competitive advantage in the upcoming exams.

Year 4
Our Year 4 course is designed to prepare children early for the 11 plus exams, strengthening their key English and maths skills and getting them started with verbal reasoning and non-verbal Reasoning.
Giving children a strong foundation early on will help them to understand what is expected from them in the 11 plus exam. This also gives them plenty of time to improve their skills, which will boost their confidence going into Year 5.
Each weekly session will last for 2 hours payable every half term, in advance, working out at £30 a session.
The children will receive 55 minutes of English and Verbal Reasoning learning. Following a short 10 minute break they will then receive 55 minutes of mathematics and non-verbal reasoning learning.
There will be no more than 8 children per class.

Before lessons begin, we invite your child to complete an appraisal to find out if our lessons are suitable for them. Once your child has passed our initial appraisal they will be invited to attend our weekly sessions.
Year 5
Our Year 5 course prepares pupils in all four subjects of maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, building their confidence and getting them ready for their 11 plus entrance exam into state grammar and private schools.
We don’t rely on repetitive memorisation techniques which can quickly become tedious in the classroom. Instead we encourage a deeper level of understanding, enabling your child to apply the learning properly and remember it long after their exams have passed.

Year 6 Revision Term
Our revision term is designed for existing year 5 students moving into year 6 in September, however it is also open to new students subject to an appraisal.
It consists of 5 weeks of exam paper practice and revision. It finishes the week before the 11 plus exams giving your child a competitive advantage.
We use a range of assessment methods to evaluate your child’s strengths and address areas they may find challenging. This means that we reflect our teaching delivery based on their individual needs, which helps your child build the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to pass the 11 plus.

Once your child has completed and passed our initial appraisal, they will be invited to attend the sessions below. For convenience, we have kept term dates broadly in line with the local authority holidays.
Each session costs £16 an hour and is payable every half term in advance.
